The dusty trail begins
On 31 August at 1308 Central Time, I fly out of Bismarck, North Dakota and on my way into my own personal cycling history: riding the Lewis and Clark trail.
This tour has been ten months in the making and delayed by two, but I’m doing it at last. I’ve made dozens of gear list modifications and plenty of minuscule route adaptations, but I think this is actually going off without a hitch at last! If all goes as scheduled, I’ll be riding for approximately twenty-five days beginning 1 September. I’m a bit apprehensive but in an adventuring sense. I’m not worried.
Whether or not I’ll be able to make updates on the road are not known, but keep your eyes open on the Lewis and Clark trail page when you stop by jaymekohler.com and look for updates. While you’re at it, feel free to take a gander at almost 4,000 words of my first-ever cycle tour from Ottawa, Ontario to Kingston, Ontario in July. It is unfinished as of yet, but there’s still a lot of good info to be gleaned from it.
I hope to see everyone on the flip side of this tour. I know I’ll be looking forward to the accomplishment.
Power to the pedal…

I’m glad you stopped by, it was great to see you (it’s been WAY too long).
Have fun getting up those big-ass hills (better you than me :). I’ll give you a shout in a couple of weeks.
