Under heavy construction
I’ve been messing around with my Movable Type installation (the content management system behind jaymekohler.com) as of late, so bear with the down time, broken or absent links, and general confusion as this process continues.
After numerous failed attempts and inexplicable error codes, I was finally able to upgrade my old Berkeley database to MySQL - a process I had to learn step by step in the last six hours and eventually succeeded in doing. On top of that, I upgraded my Movable Type installation from 3.17 to 3.2, thereby giving myself a ton of new plugins and functionality to play with before I deploy to Iraq in late March.
There’s a new, pop-up free tagboard too. This one is hosted on my own web space to keep those spamming, spyware bastards at bay from now on.
And what does this all mean to Joe Shit the rag man?
I’m not quite sure, but this is the web equivalent of cleaning out my closet, forgoing the yard sale, and just throwing shit away. I’ve accumulated entirely too much junk in the recesses of my domain and this has been long overdue.
While you’re waiting, busy yourself with the thousands of photos and videos in my gallery. Keep in mind there are new videos in the Iraq album (EFIC and Fallujah to be specific) as well as new photos and videos from recent training during Mojave Viper.
In summary, jaymekohler.com fan (the three of you who haven’t jumped ship from my lack of updates), don’t give up hope so soon. I still have pictures in my Speedos waiting to be published.
